TO THE APPLICANT’S MANAGER: The Ignite Louisville program requires a commitment not only from the individual participating in the program but from the candidate’s employer(s) as well. Manager Support

As a manager of an Ignite Louisville candidate, your role is important to their success. The program requires more than just an investment in tuition; it requires an investment in time. This means the participant will have to commit to time away from the office, which impacts your business as well. The most successful participants from the program have a high level of support from their managers.

Time Commitment

Attendance at the Opening Retreat is mandatory. The other program days are one full day per month from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Dates for the sessions are listed on our website at https://www.leadershiplouisville.org/ignite-louisville/program-calendar/.

The other major component of the Ignite Louisville program is a service-learning component, the Ignite Louisville Challenge, which requires time outside of program days. Each Ignite Louisville participant will be put on a team and paired with a local nonprofit agency to work on a project. These projects allow participants to incorporate what they’ve learned from the program in a meaningful way.

Attendance is mandatory at the Opening Retreat and expected for all program days. Participation in the team project is also expected. Missing more than one program day can result in dismissal from the program.

The candidate you are managing will require your assistance to keep their calendars clear on program days and allow them some flexibility for working on their team project. Please note that program tuition is non-refundable.
